Why
sit in a classroom in England?
LIVING
IN A TEACHER’S HOME
gives you two benefits – private
lessons plus total immersion.
You focus on the language that is relevant to you, absorbing the
culture and use the language every day in real situations. You
are a welcome guest in your teacher's home, not just “another student”
on a school register.
Adults
Taking time to study can mean losing your holiday. You must
make fast progress, but need a rest too, perhaps combine lessons
with a hobby, like tennis or golf. You may want a new
experience, a visit to England, but not as a tourist. Channel’s One-to-One General Programme adapts to meet your needs,
offering an enjoyable and relaxing method to learn English.
You set the pace, absorbing the language and culture.
More mature students study without pressure from younger
learners.
You meet and socialise with people who are interested in you and your
opinions. Choose formal tuition or include visits to local
facilities to practise in real situations.
The course is also suitable for teachers with
the possibility to refresh teaching resources and compare and discuss
methodology
Students
Further education often demands a very high level of
English., with considerable pressure to maintain and improve grades. Alternatively,
you may not have studied English recently and need to refresh your
skills in preparation for your first job. A Channel course lets you concentrate on what you need, not the
general requirements of a group.
If
you want to bring your own course work and texts with you, your teacher
will be happy to help. Please let us know any specialised requirements at the time
of booking.
Children
Living with a Private Teacher and Family, your child uses English in
real situations all day, not only during lessons. This helps them gain
confidence and motivation for their future studies. Success in exams is important today.
Our teachers understand the educational demands on
students and help them to overcome any specific language difficulties.
We
try to place children in families with other children, but this cannot
always be guaranteed. There
may be times when younger members are away from home.
However, your child will always be involved in all activities
within the family.
The
Teacher and Family
Your child’s host teacher and family are chosen for their experience
with young learners. They ensure your child is immersed in family life and
organised local visits.
24/7
Supervision
Security is important for young people.
Lessons take place in the home and leisure time is spent with the
family and not unsupervised with other students.
Your
child receives the supervision that you wish. To help us, please
complete the authorisation section in the enclosed booking form.
Parents
should note that all courses include intensive tuition.
If a less academic programme with group activities is more
suitable for your child, you may prefer to consider a stay in a
traditional school environment.
Can I share my
course with a friend?
If you would like to share your experience in England with a
partner or friend, please choose our shared option. We are
happy to arrange extra tuition for guests of different levels.
